Healthcare.

We are growing older by the day, which significantly impacts our society and healthcare system. Ideally, we would like to continue living at home for as long as possible, but the need for healthcare is inevitable. Additionally, we are increasingly measuring various aspects of our own health, which can lead to mental uncertainties.

How can we maintain dignified and affordable healthcare?

Sint Maartenskliniek

Sint Maartenskliniek is the largest treatment center in the Netherlands, specializing in posture and movement, with specialties in orthopedics, rheumatology, rehabilitation, and pain management. The question we got from them was: How can 3D printing be applied in the plaster room and contribute to an even higher quality of care? This question immediately encourages exploring available 3D technologies, not only in healthcare but also beyond. It also involves analyzing the existing process in the plaster room and researching the questions and needs of clients. The result is a steep learning curve for the team and many new insights that directly lead to tailored care.

GGZ Centraal

GGz Centraal is one of the largest providers of mental health aid. They do so through regular treatments and crisis help in times of need. This challenge was precisely the question we received from GGz Centraal: can crisis care also be provided digitally? This could significantly increase the capacity of crisis teams, allowing more people to receive the care they need. By engaging in conversations with clients, practitioners, and experts, we have established frameworks for delivering digital crisis care. The question of what the care will look like and which stakeholders have responsibilities at various points has been answered. Now, we are awaiting approval for the use of this new form of treatment.

Kempenhaeghe

Kempenhaeghe diagnoses and treats individuals with complex forms of epilepsy, sleep disorders, and children with neurological learning disorders. The question we worked on is a logistical one: how can logistics contribute to greater happiness and efficiency? On the one hand, this requires an empathetic approach: literally putting yourself in the shoes of the clients who are transported from their homes to Kempenhaeghe by going along and talking to clients and drivers to uncover their concerns. On the other hand, it involves studying innovative logistical processes in other sectors, such as Uber and Lyft, to gain crucial insights. The result: plenty of tools to renew the transportation department without losing sight of the client’s needs and comfort.
